Youth Empowerment Program
DBSN's programming consist of four main components:
Students are provided with the time, resources, and support to complete homework, projects, and create study plans.
A variety of empowering events and activities are built into the programming to help students build their elevator pitches, networks, and experiences.
Weekly workshops focus on elements the students believe are critical to their success and work to enhance their personal and professional lives. Workshops are conducted by both DBSN program facilitators and professional community organizations.
DBSN connects students with local Black professionals in their potential fields of interest to gain insights and the support needed to achieve their professional goals.
During our programming year, students from across the Region attend weekly sessions and engage in a journey of self-discovery and understanding. Each week's topic allows students to tackle concepts from history, further develop their life skills, and experience real-world application of theories and ideas.
